Celebrities are too influential, especially in a society dominated by social media. It only takes one glance at my twitter feed or Facebook wall to see the dangerous consequences of this. People are increasingly reposting celebrity views on political issues as if they have genuine weight, and these rapidly garner support to the point where celebrity opinion replaces the facts on the issue.
